A mini camcorder with fish eye lens! Jul 31, 2011
By Animal Lover Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1TA74Z2M97YZ3 Here's a short video clip of me snowboarding in Japan last session. I'm very impressed with the quality and performance of this mini camcorder. I bought the fish eye interchangeable lens which was a HUGE bonus for snowboarding shots. Another fellow snowboarder friend owns one too but we've been too lazy to edit and mix the videos (in different angles) together. This camcorder is super small and virtually weightless on a helmet, I sometimes forget I have this thing strapped on the top of my head. It does not bother me at all. Audio is very clear, unless you are travelling in strong winds. Video: for the price, I wasn't expecting too much. It's no HD quality, but it's good enough if you are a sessional user or if this is your first sports camera. I would say it is comparable to the iphone 3GS (NOTE THE S), but not the iphone 4 which has 720P HD. Images were sharp and clear (it's sharper without any lens, but you lose the panoramic vision) and the frame rate was a constant smooth 30fps. Memory: it does not come with any memory cards so I bought my own 16gb and its got over 10 hours of video footage. I did not have to remove a single file off the card during these 6 months of ownership. Durability: On this ski trip, I've crash into a tree several times and both the camcorder and I still managed to survive.
One of the best thing was battery life - I bought an extra battery totalling to 3 batteries. Each last around 90 minutes, and 3 batteries was enough to last for a full day if used intermittently. I was considering the Veho camcorder but the single battery made it a huge restriction when it'll only give you one hour of recording per outing.
There is a motion detection mode designed for surveillence but I have yet to test it out.
The clip shows 2007...I was too lazy to edit the time stamp back then... and I still haven't done it yet!
I was considering the Gopro camera but it was 3 times the price - JUST for the HD. It's also much bigger too. I'm happy with this Sphere camcorder and I'll recommend this to those who can't afford the extra $200.

Amazing little camera Jul 27, 2011
By Keylly Got this Sphere camera and it is simply amazing. It shoots 640 x 480 color video at a very nice and smoth framerate. The files are AVI and are saved onto the microSD card that you plug into the camera. I bought the wide angle lens as well and I love it. I've bought a similar looking mini sports camera on ebay and the problem with it was the sight angle was very limited. The wide angle lens overcomes this problem totally. I use a class 4 microSD card and it works without any problems. I keep 2 batteries charged all the time and swap it out once it runs out of battery. Audio is much better than the one I previously owned. The accessories are sufficient for me to hook it onto my bike. The velcros are very tight and it's nearly impossible for it to fall off. I added a shock proof pad that I got from a car accessories shop and stuck it underneath the mounting clip. This helps to avoid the vibrations and the shock that makes the videos look unsteady. I'll be using it on my bike touring trip in califronia and I'll submit some videos.

ingenious idea Jun 10, 2011
By ANNDY An ingenious idea to use add on lens to adapt different viewing angles. I bought both the lens and it makes videotaping so much more fun. It would be good if there was a live feed of the video image (like an iphone) but it would be impossible for it to be so small. I've also been looking at the HD flip cameras but it they don't offer mounts for my bike helmet. Just a note on the lens, the fish eye lens threads are quite hard to screw onto this mini camcorder. Be sure to push it flat onto the opening on the camera before screwing it in or you'll screw up the plastic threads on the camera.

Awesome small camcorder Jul 28, 2011
By Clark Turner This little camcorder is great. It's super small and really versatile. I recommend the two lens that give you an option to extend the viewing angle all the way to 180 degrees. I got a 8GB microSD card and I recommend a minimum of 8gb if you don't want to keep backing up your files onto your computer. I have a $300 Gopro camcorder too and this isn't as good as that if you compare video quality (HD vs non-hd), but the gopro is too big and bulky if you are looking for something to clip on your shirt.

Impressed with lens options Aug 10, 2011
By L. Drew This camera is amazing for the size and lens options. I appreciate that you can swap batteries so you are not restricted to one single battery. Audio is good, video is clear+smooth, it's small and light, and the security feature for motion activation is nice especially if you have the lens attached to capture my whole room. It's a good deal for this price. The only problem is that you need to buy your own micro SD card. I've got the wide angle lens and it shoots great videos if you mount it in your car. It extends the view angle by an extra 30% and it makes a huge difference. The lens itself can be a slightly heavy (it is made of metal and glass) so if you clip it on your clothes it may end up facing downwards due to the heavy nose, so be sure to use the velcro straps to fix it tightly. I got everything for under $70 with amazon prime!
